Surgery can be used to both diagnose and treat cancer. Often surgery is needed at some point in your cancer journey. 

Depending on your type of cancer, there are many different surgery options. Your cancer care team will talk with you in detail about your own care plan and whether surgery is a treatment option for your type of cancer. If you are having surgery for your cancer, you will have the operation performed by a surgeon in a hospital. There are a number of hospitals in our region that offer surgery, you can ask your health care team for options.
